INGREDIENT500 mL bottle
Total volume of media500 mL
EDTA (dihydrate)93 g
Distilled water500 mL
0.5M NaOH~50mL
  1. Prepare a beaker with a stir bar
  2. Pour ~300 mL of water into the beaker
  3. Calibrate the pH probe and insert it into the beaker, ensure the probe is above the stir bar so it does not hit the probe
  4. Add 93 g EDTA (dihydrate)
  5. Add NaOH to adjust the pH until it hits a pH of 8.0
a. ~10 g pellets or ~50 mL of 5 M NaOH
b. The EDTA takes a while to dissolve, you can use a low heat to help

Add water to 500 mL

Store at 4 C in a nonreactive plastic (HDPE/2, LDPE/4, PP/5)
